Outdoor stairlifts are based on the straight stairlift model, with the addition of being fully weatherproofed to protect them from the outside elements. The stairlift can be switched on and off using a removable key to provide extra security and safety when not in use.

Your stairlift will be secured to the steps, so no major structural work needs to be undertaken. However, a weatherproof outside enclosure box will be required in order to house the mains power supply for the stairlift but this can usually be easily addressed.
When your outdoor stairlift is not in use, the seat, arms and footrest can be simply folded up and covered with the fitted weatherproof cover. The stairlift can then be switched off and the key stored in a safe place in order to prevent unauthorised use of the stairlift.
